Retinol (A) is a nutrient (medicinal product) , Fat Soluble Vitamin {Vitamin A}.

Functions :

Retinol(A) (Vitamin A) is the Principal component of retinal pigments , it promotes good eyesight especially in low(dim) light , Promotes normal vision, maintains healthy teeth, skin, mucus membranes and helps in growth of bones , maintenance of epithelial tissue .

Deficiency Symptoms :

 Deficiency of Vitamin A (Retinol A) leads to some disorders like 

1.Night blindness,

2. Dry eyes,

3. inability to produce tears {this is the first sign of vitamin a deficiency}

4. drying of corneas,

5. Keratinization of skin, and of muous membranes of respiratory and urinogenital tracts.

Vitamin A deficiency is more common among childrens.
